The Twisted Building in Cartagena Colombia
By Edward Stoever
This building is the most striking object on the horizon and can be seen from many miles away. The first time I saw it, I said to myself... what if there is a wind storm?

It turns out that there already was a wind storm, probably not a very big one either, but big enough to twist the building and render it too unstable for further construction.

I understand that a judge has ordered that the responsible party dismantle it. I don't think that will happen any time soon.

Aparently, some people purchased floors, so they are big losers too.

On a Sunday afternoon, I noticed a bunch of people running down the stair cases inside the building. It looks to me like the guys who are supposed to work as guards are making extra money by giving tours.

Some day, that building will fall over, and when it does.... good luck to whomever is below.

News Flash! - August 2007  In my most recent trip to Cartagena, I have witnessed that the building is being dismantled. As of this month, about one-third of the building has been taken down!
